Defhead is a new website that broadcasts secret shows live over the web. We invite in the bands that we love, set them up in our studio, jam in 200 lucky punters, and broadcast footage of the show AS IT HAPPENS on the site. It's sort of like Countdown on the web - a bit nerdy, a bit daggy, but really fun, particularly for all those music trainspotters out there. Best of all it's free to watch and interact from wherever you are in the world.
Hosted by Tom McMullan of FBi Radio, the series was launched into action late last year with live performances from Dappled Cities Fly and Expatriate. This year is set to be HUGE, we've already had live shows from Red Riders and The Cops and with plenty more super acts lined up.
And now the technical stuff: Defhead has it's own exclusive venue where all the concerts are held. Our live production team manage the 4-camera shoot, all stage and spot lighting, live high-definition video editing, audio production and event archiving. The content is pushed out to the web at two bit rates (400k and 150k) and delivered across the globe via the Akamai network.
